Sit & Read
Sit on the porch.
Long before I ever carried a camera everywhere, I was writing.
Journals started, scraps of paper, half-finished thoughts. Lately the words have started coming through a little clearer — through a pen, or a keyboard — the same way photographs do.
So this is where they live.
Batte Shoot Crazy
The personal side of things. A Journal. A blog. Memories. Reflections. Stories from my past that show up again when I’m out making pictures.
The quieter, deeper pieces that take their time.
Southside Vignettes
This one’s a nod to an old dream — maybe being a writer, maybe even a newspaperman.
Years ago the Richmond paper used to run little features about life away from the city. Just glimpses. People and places. Ordinary days that meant something.
That’s what this is.
A small front-porch paper.
A weekly “here’s what I saw” or “guess who I ran into” from around Southside.
The free edition goes out on Wednesdays — like the local papers that show up in the stores before noon. Subscribers get a Sunday note too, with deeper reflections, behind-the-scenes stories, and maybe a few extra photos.
If you know a place I should see or someone I should talk to, I’d love to hear about it.
Pull up a chair and stay awhile.
